Plastic goetheanistic art, as a basis for applied arts under the leadership of architect Oldřich Hozman. Seminar will take place from 17th till 19th of October 2025 in the school: Waldorf school, Vlastina 500/19, Praha 6-Liboc, Czech republik (www.waldorfdedina.cz).From Friday 17:00 – 20:00, on Saturday 9:00 – 20:00 and on Sunday 9:00 – 16:00.
The cycle of art seminars takes place to support the creation of an independent Waldorf school and to support the teachers’ initiative and parents at the Dědina Waldorf school, who strive for this independence. Participants will be divided into two groups. Beginners will model. Advanced will do models of applied arts. The methods of work will consist in the etheric and in the mental-spiritual plane. It will be a goetheanistic work of art in practise. The goal is to develop a deeper understanding for changing shapes between themselves. When you model or carve objects, you learn to feel and capture the shapes. You will realize that one leads to another. You try to make the transitions between shapes smooth. Practically, this can then be used when designing the shapes of furniture or useful objects in Waldorf schools or in homes. In plastic goetheanistic art, one often works with the metamorphosis of shapes. It is similar to Waldorf pedagogy, which works with the metamorphosis of forces that operate in childhood and which gradually transform into forces operating in adulthood. These forces are called etheric forces in anthroposophy. When it succeeds, so that these powers may flow freely and vividly in childhood. They are transformed in later life into lively and fluent powers of thought. That’s why children in the first and second seven years need it. Even as adults, indulging in the kind of modeling or carving which we’ll be doing will help you get into that lively mood. In addition, it has a regenerative and therapeutic effect. Because you can relax mentally with artistic work. You engage other senses. You will also warm up mentally and physically. The aim is to develop an understanding and feeling for soft and flowing shapes and for gradual transitions between them. To learn to feel them and shape them in matter. Register to Helena Kottová at e-mail: , phone: +420 777 228 616, the price of the seminar is CZK 2,500 for guests, including materials. And CZK 500 for teachers and parents of the school.
