Garden design for Waldorf Lyceum in Prague

A school garden project of the Waldorf lyceum in Prague 4 – Opatov. The desire of the tudents was to establish a new ornamental and relaxing school garden. The garden is gradually formed on the basis of the study and the model that we have created together from modelling clay sculpture. The main shapes and corners of the garden were created on the basis of perception of sensational borders of the space prior the start of the model. The project aims to create a place with a diverse moods. Therefore, the project envisages the elevation terrain modelling, which helps to separate the mood of individual corners.

During the ceremonial laying of the foundation stone, the students spoke on the theme of the four elements, thus connecting with the spirit of place. The aim and purpose of the garden was also stated . Elementary instrumental forces of nature can better orient themselves and help the man to form such situations that successfully lead to the target.

The garden is gradually formed on the basis of the study and the model that we have created together. The conception of the garden follows the seven statues that had already been placed in the garden. They are statues of planets and made of wood, standing in the garden in a large circle. Before we started to create the model of the garden, we had made carefully walk throughout the entire garden space with the students. I led the students to try to feel the emotional boundaries of mood changes in different parts of the garden. The students recorded these emotional boundaries in their sketches in the field. Then participants discussed these boundaries and refined them. It was later used as the the basis for the creation of the garden model. Emotional mood borders help to determine the boundaries of themes of the landscaping, such as direction of travel, gates, beginnings of various nooks and placement of decorative stones. Creation is so in line with elementary beings of the garden.

Creation of the model

It is important to involve as many future users as possible in the design creation. When working on a model, circumstances that one would not take into account will emerge from the work on the model…Based on the consideration of the number of rooms and their orientation to the cardinal, we started to build a model house. The method of working together allows the design process to bring not only the forces of thinking, but also the strength of feeling and will. Each family member brings liveliness and joy into the process of creating the model, feeling the context and building on the work of others. It gradually results in mutual agreement about the creation of the house. All participants are able to mentally connect with the emerging design in a better way. Working with clay during the modelling creates certain calm and concentrated mood. It also attracts the attention of children who perceive the forces of inspiration that enter the process of joint creation.

Waldorf school in Jinonice, Prague

A study of the new Waldorf elementary school, lyceum, and kindergarten in Prague – Jinonice, by the method of joint modelling.

The method of modelling helps to connect human creation with the original source of inspiration. Through this method, people manage to come closer to the nature of creativity. It’s also a social approach, leading to an agreement over the intended goal. The study served in further designing steps to clarify the look and layout of the future school buildings.

Geomancy and Creation of the Environment

Adaptation of the land for the new Waldorf elementary school, lyceum, and kindergarten in Prague- Jinonice by the method of joint placement of corner stones along the border. The birth of new ideas and projects is always associated with inspiration coming from higher spiritual worlds. In order to anchor these inspirations well to the earth, it is necessary for a person to cooperate and communicate with elementary beings of the place. That is why the ritual of laying the corner stones is done. For the elemental beings of the place, it is a sign that a new challenge is coming. They can derive from such a ritual that there is a new owner with a new plan. And then they help the new owner to fulfil that purpose. That is why we, together with parents and teachers, have officially delimited school grounds and established a connection with the spirit of the place. Our wish is to create new premises of Waldorf school.

Study of Anthroposophic Centre in Prague

A study of the new headquarters of the Czech Republic Anthroposophic Society by the method of joint modelling. The aim of this study was to capture the creativity and inspiration of the customers to the shape of the future educational and cultural centre. The design was created in a group of around 12 to 15 participants in two days. During the creation, opinions about the morphology and style were mutually shared  and functional parts of the building discussed. It was thus both artistic and social level of activity, leading to the final agreement within the community.

Creation of the Model

It is important to make it possible for future users to make the most of the design. When working on the model, connections that a man could not think about on the paper emerge from the process…

Based on the consideration of the number of rooms and their orientation towards the world’s parties, we began to create the model of the educational centre. The method of joint work allows the process of design to bring not only the power of thinking but also the power of feeling and will. Each member of the team brought life and joy into the process of modelling. Teamwork makes it very easy to feel the connection and follow the work of others. This creates a mutual consensus on the construction and its surroundings. By the means of modelling, all participants can better interact with the emerging design .

When working with clay in modelling, a certain quiet, concentrated mood arises. It attracts our attention and awakens the power of inspiration that enters the process of joint creation.

Family house in Chramosty

Consultation of geomancy and feng shui prior to the construction of a standard family house. On the site, I found the ongoing lines of ground water. I avoided their directions when designing the house, by designing the arrangement of the beds away from these lines. A house with a very fine indoor climate was then created.

Square in Vlachovo Březí

A project of the pavement of the square in the village of Vlachovo Březí in South Bohemia.

The structure of the square tiles follows the sacral geometry of the church and geomantic properties of the surrounding landscape. From the subtle energy point in front of the altar in the church interior, there are energy lines running in the star pattern into the neighbouring energy sites in the nearby landscape. The directions of these energy lines are captured and highlighted by lines in the pavement of the square by stones of different colours. This is an implementation where subtle energy geomantic features are incorporated into the architectural work of the landscape in an artistic manner .

I have begun to visit he landscape around the town of Vlachovo Březí in 1987. I was therefore delighted when in 2005, I was awarded the project a new solution and paving of the square. I based the artistic solution and structure of the pavement on the idea to “print” the subtle energy lines directions in the tiles. As I discovered during my geomantic survey, most of them heads into the power point in front of the altar in the church interior.

Study and creation of the environment

On the plot, I located lines of the groundwater radiation. I staked out a line the surveyor marked them in the plan of the plot. When I designed the layout plans, I adjusted them so that the bottom line of radiation over the groundwater were passing through external walls and partitions. So the beds can be placed in locations with a neutral energy. The residents can rest better at night because their body fluid is not disturbed by the resonances with active moving ground water that is constantly moving underground. All beds are oriented so that the lying person has a full wall behind the head and so that he /she can see the front door to the room well. The house has a very gentle and quiet energy and the interiors have a good impact on the psyche of the people.
